Please note: Mental health first aid refers to the initial support offered to a person who may be experiencing a mental health problem, or who is in the middle of a mental health crisis. It’s the immediate “first responder” care that’s given until appropriate professional support is received or until the crisis resolves.

Aboriginal Mental
Health First Aid

This workshop was developed through Mental Health Australia and is a 14-hour First Aid course for 18 plus adults. You will learn how to assist and respond to an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander adult who may be experiencing a mental health problem or crisis. You will learn first responder tools, helping you to deal with the issue until appropriate and professional help can be received or the situation can be resolved using the practical and evidence-based action plan.
